Fifty to one hundred years ago every verandah in North Queensland had at least 2 squatters chairs. Their popularity was due to the unparalleled comfort of sitting on a canvas sling in the sweltering heat. Being a Queenslander himself with fond memories of his aunt's chairs, designer/maker Don Green decided to reinvent this design classic for the 21st Century.

The result is a contemporary masterpiece that will feature on any verandah

Black Dog Furniture uses only the best materials available to make these chairs.

They are made of one of the most beautiful and sought after of Australian Native Timbers, West Australian Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata).

Each chair is individually hand-crafted and signed by Don.

The seat and headrest are U.V. resistant and washable.
